Bank of America Mortgage Review

Bank of America Mortgage is the mortgage division of the national mega-bank owned by parent company, Bank of America Corporation (NYSE: BAC). We located a website, a number of customer complaints, and a phone number.
I my opinion any company making claims of “no cost” or “no fee” mortgages is suspect. Bank of America is a major advertiser of their “No Fee” mortgage program. Read about it here and here.

Bank of America Review
In the case of Bank of America, since they own your mortgage, you can discuss loan modifications with them, but of course, modifications on loans not in arrears or default can be futile.
It appears when I search for complaints against Bank of America, there are many. Click the link to see all the Bank of America complaints listed in Google.

I hae a mortgage with bank of america. I had lost my job in May of 2008. After 2/mos of interviewing and no job offers, I called Bank of America in August of 2008 to make arrangements and request a hardship. I was not in default at this time but new I could not make my Sept. payment. I was stated I would have to be mailed a form to send back. Well 2 weeks later I receive the form and faxed/mail back that day! It was 9/2/08, as of 9/27/08 no response from bank of america. I called 3′xs and was given a name and direct number. I have left this person 3 messages and no return call after a week! Here it is coming onto Oct which another payment will be due and I am still waiting for Bank of America to contact me to work out a hardship program. It seems to me they would rather let their customers lose their homes then work out a plan with them to keep it. Bank of America needs to be stopped by the government and fast!!!
Kate,
You may want to contact NACA…they have a deal with BofA…a direct line if you will on negotiating loan modifications.
Good Luck,
RKB
I have been with Bank of America for 15 years and they are the worst lender. I have contacted them 75 times in 14 months for a modication of my fraudulent non-fannie mae mortgage loan. BOA called me 1 time.
No agency tells BOA what to do. Believe me. No One except a court. OCC is their regulator and they look the other way. Someone reported that BOA never got into subprime loans that is why they do not have bad reputation - that is incorrect. I got an ALT-A loan from them and I do not know how many years they were in secondary mortgages but I do know they closed the secondary mortgage in Dallas and Florida earlier 2008. They had too many complaints about these mortgages. I tried NACA, FRB, SEC, OFHEO, Attorney General, OCC, many more.
I think you would have better luck finding a lawyer that handles contingency lawsuits for predatory lending. You are right. BOA will not help their customers. Been there and slapped in the face. Good Luck.
