Chase Manhattan Mortgage Review
As a mortgage broker for over 15 years, how could we not come across the biggest name in banking. However, we heard a lot about them from other brokers who pushed the Chase home equity mortgage programs. This was one of their most aggressively marketed programs. I didn’t like their promoting the 100% CLTV home equity programs, so we stayed as far away from them as possible.
Any retail mortgage seller that services their own loans with this many consumer complaints should be avoided.

We were victims of the Hurricanes of 2004 in Florida. We had Chase Manhattan who misled us every time we called. The house was destroyed and the insurance company did not want to cooperate. I contacted them so we could get them to back us. They just wanted the small check that the insurance issued us, but would not help us. Their solution, “well, we could just start foreclosure proceedings!” We were not even behind on our payments, that’s the kicker. When we had no other alternative, we sold the house. Chase Manhattan kept our insurance money until 45 days after the house was closed on. They also reported us late on our last payment when I was told not to pay it due to the closing at the first of the month! We received our money via wire transfer the exact day of closing and were given a receipt where the mortgage was paid off at Chase before we left the closing. I would not suggest anyone using them for a mortgage. They are the worst in the world. Run quickly away from them.
We had a VA mortgage through Chase and sold it through a short sale in 2007. They never closed my account properly and reported me 6 months behind on my mortgage after we sold it. It took me almost a year for them to fix it. They finally did and we are trying to get another house and they reported us 30 days late on a closed account. Don’t go through Chase. Everytime you call to talk to someone they lie to you and transfer you somewhere else. Hopefully I can get it fixed sometime soon.
I have had to call four times just to be given a different telephone which prompts me to hang up !!
IF YOU ARE LOOKING UP CHASE MORTGAGE COMPLAINTS IT IS ALREADY TO LATE THEY HAVE YOU IN THEIR TENACLES. TRUST ME SELL SELL SELL
