Carrington Mortgage Services, LLC is a subprime mortgage servicer who appears to have taken over mortgage servicing for the New Century Mortgage portfolio, one of the largest subprime mortgage originating companies at the height of the subprime market.

Carrington Mortgage Services, LLC Review
Since Carrington Mortgage Services, LLC dealt primarily with subprime mortgage loans unless your state has passed laws restricting the foreclosure of such types of mortgages, you may find them unwilling to modify your mortgage. Persistence pays in such cases.

CARRINGTON MORTGAGE NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED.
I agree ..total lack of help on all fronts!!
I have applied for modification 5 times, and each time I was told I had a greater surplus of income and denied my request. My paperwork has been lost 3 of the 5 times and had to be resubmitted. They are currently getting 53% of my take home pay. The bulk of that 90% of the 53% is going towards interest. I asked to keep the principle the same, just lock in the rate. They declined again and again.
My mortgage was going to adjust back in May of this year and I tried to do a loan modification in April to lock into a lower rate (no luck in refinancing due to the drop in property value - no equity), but I was denied because Carrington insisted that we were able to handle the payments because our credit was good..not any more! I paid a company to help us with a loan modification and it was denied by Carrington because our bank statements showed enough surplus….they only look at the deposits and not what’s going out to bills. Half of that surplus is coming from payday loans to get by!!!! Then Carrington referred us to Hope Now…no hope in that. Hope Now offered a payment plan for three months and we would just have to pay the entire late balance on the third month. We just received our notice for the new rate which will be effective 1/1/2009 9.75%.
I have to say Carrington Modified both of my loans without any problem last June 2008 when my 1st mortgage was set to begin adjusting. The 2nd mortgage is fixed. I called them late April 2008, the representative was very nice, and she told me to go online to type out my hardship letter. She even told me what to say in the letter.
After about two days of applying online, Mr. Nash who works out of the OC office called me and told me that they would modify my loan. My first became fixed at 6.5% which is my original rate before the mod, and my 2nd was lowered from 10.25% down to an awesome 3% rate. The entire process lasted about 3 weeks. They even sent a notary to my house so that my wife and I could sign the docs. It was easier than getting an actual mortgage.
For me ,the loan modification with Carrington was a very positive experience.
Carrington Mortgage bought my loan from New Century.
I was never late on a mortgage payment until my mortgage
adjusted 800.00$ above the originial mortgage. I went through
NACA to get a modification for the loan and Carrington ignored all my requests to modify. I could afford my mortgage at the original fixed rate of 6.6% but Carrington wanted to collect 20,000$ a year in interest. Now my house is being foreclosed on.
They have lost my paper work and told us they would not drop our interest rate. They also said they were going to add $32,000 on to the end of our note. Then she asked if our house was worth 50,000. It is worth alot more than that.
What is NACA?? These people do not know what they are doing. Maybe I should contact HUD, My Congressman and Senators.
I did not like what I read. They sound like they do not want to work with their customers.
they will not work with the customers ..will be many forclosures in the name of carrington
Even trying to purchase a home they have forclosed on is near impossible due to their lack of organization and pure unprofessionalism. I would avoid dealing this company if at all possible.
