We have had quite similar experiences with Litton Loan re: extremely rude, uneducated untrained customer service. Now that we have another home, were adament that we would not get financing with any company that sold thier loans, especially to Litton. We had set up an interest only pymt, but have in acutalaty been paying over $100 each month above our agreed amount. Litton simply stated they don’t do interest only. We will be getting away from them as soon as we are financially able to.
I too have read all the complaints against Litton Loan and have added myself to those lists. They would rather spend thousands on forclosing your home then trying to work out a doable payment. I just found out they are partnered with Goldman Sachs. Didn’t they just get “bailed out”??? I am so sick of these people, They out to be in jail. I would love to give Larry Litton a piece of my mind. I am sure he does not accept emails or phone calls. I may just have to write them a letter and call my congressman.
I too had the same experience with Litton. I dealt with the rudeness…asked for a supervisor to call me…no reply….try to work out a repayment on the loan. I had $6,000 to give them. They told me to wait 10 days for the letter from the attorney with the repayment amount. While waiting for the letter they added $3,000 more in attorney fees, which we could have been avoided if we could have made the payment the day I called. There is no one to help you deal with this company at all. I cant afford an attorney and I even filed a complaint on them. No response.
Our loan was sold to Litton in 2006, since then we haven’t been able to speak with anyone there to answer any questions. In 2007 we tried to do a remodification with Litton to lower our payments, in March 2008 we finally received the paperwork stating that it has been approved. The payments were HIGHER then the original payments. Every time we call Litton we are passed from department to department but no one can ever help. Recently our house burned down, now we have checks from the insurance company but get this when we call Litton to find out where to send them they say they dont know and refer us to a lawyers office that tells us that they have no idea what we are suppossed to do. So since the house burned down we are starting to get fines until the house is removed, but in order to do that we need a letter from Litton approving it. Who knows how long that will take!!! Anybody that gets stuck with Litton, what can I say, God forbid you ever need to speak with someone there cause it would be easier to pull your own teeth out!!!!!
I am also a victim of Litton Loan Service. I want to know who they are servicing my loan for!!!? Surely their “investers”need to be exposed. I have the same experience as everyone else does. However, I have not lost my house yet . I am 60 days late and this was forced, in order to reevaluate my loan. I am in a money hemorage with them and had to finally stop.I am prepared and after reading all of the articles I have read. I have no doubt what so ever, they would rather take my house, have it sit vacant for 2 years and vandalized, take a 300,000. bath , before working anything out with me. Previous to this, I had perfect credit. I know there are hudreds of thousands of people in this same condition..Isnt there something that can be done to them?
We too have had a bad experience with Litton Loan. My husband was gravely ill unable to work and I tried to work with Litton Loan. I called but my calls were left unanswered. Letters were sent without response. We did finally set up a forebearance agreement which cost us several thousand not to mention attorney fees. We meet the agreement, received notice that the pending foreclosure was being dropped because we had met our agreement, and the very day we made the final payment or our forebearance they informed us we were a month behind on our house payment. I have repeatedly called, written letters asking how if we have meet our obligation with a forbearance agreement, how if their attorneys say we have met our agreement we can immediatly be a month behind, and I get no answers. I called their attorney and they tell me it is out of their hands I need to contact Litton. Litton has every intention of taking your home the minute you sign with them. I also had great credit until we got stuck with Litton. This is a crime no wonder our country is going down the tubes. It is due to companies like Litton Loan Servicing.
Do not tell me that any of the bail out money went to Larry Litton. He should be in jail for running Litton Loans. (Partners with Goldman Sachs??) Who is going to bail me out?
I first contacted Litton in Dec. 2007 to work with me on my adjustable loan that was due to increase in Jan. 2008. It has been a horrendous ordeal to deal with Litton. They either “lost” my letters or “never” had records of my numerous phone calls to try to “work” something out. Evey Litton agent gives me a different story. Major “run-around”! Litton was advised I had been battling cancer. The Cancer Patient Advocate Organization even wrote a letter to Litton on my behalf requesting readjusting my loan to avoid additional hardship. Litton did respond back to me by letter stating that the advocate people had no authority to request anything on my account. Give me a break! I had sent Litton a letter with my authorization. Litton says they never received it. All efforts have been in vain. I truly believe that they do want me to foreclose. They have been impossible. When I contacted them in Dec. 2007 the agent NEVER advised my of the any of my options. I sit here today with my mortgage due TODAY and not able to pay. I have exhausted all my funds to pay the high mortgage payments each month for the past 10 months to remain current. (what a joke!) I have NEVER been late in the history of this loan. Had Litton worked with me way back in Dec. 2007 or even Jan. 2008 I would not be in this financial situation today. Larry Litton, take note of that!! SO it does seem that Litton would rather see me out of my house and pay all those foreclosure costs than to have worked with me on keeping my payment affordable. P.S. Larry I am a single Mom with two sons. How can you sleep at night knowing what your company had (has) the power to have helped so many of us out of this crisis?
Terri,
We too spent our entire savings staying current. I have had perfect credit my whole life. I now face bankrupcy and forclosure, due to these people. I have decided not to fight another minute. I am staying for as long as I can and then filing forclosure..F!@#$ em. I will not buy into or trust that any money they want or would try to get from me would change my situation one little bit. I no longer, after reading all this, would trust a word they would say. They are counting on us being desparate enough, to chase this thing down to our own distruction…and they walk away with our house anyway. At least I will try to save as much money as I can…its only a house and I refuse to allow them to take up another minute of my sleep or life. Yes, at first, the thought of giving up or walking away was not an option. Today, I have lost enough sleep, I will fight my own fight by having enough in my pocket to start again. That means not to buy in to the dream, they are concerned or want to help, or actually will help. They are after every dime they can drain out of you…before they take your house anyway.
I think these letters should be sent to our state representatives until they are sick of hearing from us!!!
Debby, I just read your reply. You have a great attitude! I too have lost so much sleep over all this and for what? I really don’t know how Larry Litton can sleep running a company like this. I too am going to stay in my house until they drag me and my two sons out. Maybe the news cameras will be there and I can tell my story. How can we get the word out to the politicans that can do something about all of this?
God Bless you and keep you well through all of this. Always remember, you are not alone!!
Teri
I am YET another victim of Litton Loan. They are the absolute WORST! I thank God for leading me to the Internet, only to find that there are thousands of people in the SAME boat!
Please write a complaint to Arnold Schwarzenegger!!!
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
State Capitol Building
Sacramento, CA 95814
Phone: 916-445-2841
Fax: 916-558-3160 (new number)
Arnold thinks that Litton is helping people. We should ALL write to Arnold and tell them to do an audit of that company! They are killing all of us!!!
Litton will try to DRAIN all of our money as long as they can. Please read all of the comments on this site!
I pray that one day this company will fold!!!!!!!
Kelly
I to have had a horrible experience with Litton. I sure hope the government will check them out before bailing them out. They don’t need a bail out they need to be shut down!!! My home is in forclosure. They would not work with me at all. They offered me a modification which was a joke. It was more than what I was paying. Now I have it listed for a short sale which Litton approved. They even sent me to Titanium Solutions to help with this. Titanium found a realtor to sell my home for short sale. I have found out that Titanium is a sub company of Litton. I have had a buyer for my home for 6 months but Litton keeps saying they don’t have the proper paperwork and now they say they have no paperwork from the realtor for the sale. According to court records for the forclosure their own attorneys quit. My realtor said they were the worst they have ever delt with!!!! Please someone needs to look into their practices!!!!! I cannot afford an attorney but maybe someone will take my case Pro-Bono.
had very bad experience Provident bank was ripping us off when we wouldn’n play there game and clled them on it they turned us over to Litton Loan they played the same game we were 6 min. from sale of home. found someone that saw this was all a scam got us refinancing but Litton took pre payment not entitled to . had 36 monthprepay took us 5 1/2 years to refinance they took 10,000.00 prepay penalty and 45,000.00 dollars in fees they cant explain they say there corporate expenses. but all those fees are already accounted for. please help.
I have to tell you that we have had nothing but wonderful experiences with LItton. We have our second mortgage with them and wish we had our first there too. They are cooperative, respectful and very organized. We did not even ask to have our loan modified! their rep told us our rate was way to high and they cut our payment almost in HALF! What an amazing thing!
I am grateful to them and all that they did for me and my family!
I can’t and will not believe this! I have had horrible experiences with Litton as well as all of these people. I think that this comment is made up from someone working at Litton to make them look good!!!!!
This was put out by Litton Loan themselves. They are a joke.
Kelly
Well you are the first…please share with all of us the person or department you actually got to speak with. I can not believe you got the golden key to happy ever after, in the middle of all this.
Debby R
Kelly, How much did Litton pay to to say such lies? They are criminals and you know it.
)))FYI: Avelo is Litton!–or was, I mean.
Anyway, we totally got sucker into a subprime mtg. by ‘QUICKEN’.
Had a 7/1 ARM w/ line of credit, from Wells Fargo: County taxes doubled and needed to refi. in a jam.
(Perfect credit), principle balance was being paid down; we just needed about 3k to pay the taxes. QUICKEN to pay taxes but could NOT do so if we went with a trad, 30yr.
We did not know what a “subprime” mortgage was, and QUICKEN said our interest rate was locked for the full 30yrs.
They lied, our mortgage went to Avelo last year, and in June, ‘08, our mortgage went to Litton Loan Servicing (a debt-collector!?!) Say it isn’t so.
We have had nothing but problems since they began servicing our loan. They are vurrently asking us to pay more money into our Escrow Account—to build a [surplus] cushion.
We tried to explain to Litton that our taxes and insurance have gone down since our escrow was initiated. Our insurance premium was reduced by half while we were with Avelo, and Avelo ammended the Escrow payment to reflect the decrease. Now with Littion our county taxes have been reduced by another $400 dollars, but because of Litton’s fluctuating Escrow-payment reciept dates, they are trying to say we are short?????????
They will really be sorry, when we walk away from this place and leave them on the hook for QUICKEN’s fraudulent appraisal practices. Our home was appraised at 220k (the amount needed to secure the loan) Our home is currently worth 154k. A neighbor has had his for sale at 150k for more than six months and has not had one offer.
QUICKEN, Litton, they are criminals. If the government really cared about the people, “us,” these mortgage companies would not be writing SUBPRIME mortgages right now. The problem has been identified, and still I continue to see these ads all over the web, “refi 400K for only 1200 a month.” WTF
“Unjust laws must be broken.”
I am just starting the loan modification process with LItton. After talking with several people and faxing back all the appropriate paperwork, i have not heard a word in the last 3 weeks. I have just missed my first payment and hoping to get some type of loan adjustment before it gets worse. Time will tell….
Hi James
You are in the exact same position as I was when I started. I was paniced as it got closer and closer to the past due date. I am now 60 days out with no end in sight. I feel and after reading all of these…that they will string you out for as long as they can…get as much money as they can and cause enough fear that you put up with it.
Everybody…write to your senator, representative and governer. I am sending every response I see and so should all of you. Somebody has to stop them or at least put them down!!!
Debby Rogers California
I am so glad to read these sometimes Litton Loan trys to make you feel you are a loser and stupid to the fact that they are literally stealing from you. I had my first negative encounter with them in 2006 when they paid my taxes without my knowledge and then asked for a payment I could not afford. I tried to send what I could to then have my checks literally taped and returned on a piece of paper and a letter from their attorney. I immediately contacted an attorney and fought this for over a year. Again this is with an attorney trying to get a deal processed with them. I almost had to file bankruptcy until finally an outside company contacted me to get a modification started. The modification was also a nightmare with letters and a payment getting lost over and over. Once completed and getting a congratulations letter I then found out they processed it on the wrong date and I showed a month behind every month. I am STILL fighting with the research dept. I then found out that they were charging me for their ins. when I already had coverage with a different company my agent sent verification and after two months am still waiting for the correction. I was actually told today I have to write another letter (there have been many) to get this resolved. I also found out more bad news today I am again in forclosure due to them again paying my taxes. I was asked to write to their tax hardship dept and I am still waiting for a response. As asked I am sending what I can Western Union and now told my payments are being held in a suspense acct. I was told today by one of there reps this is not “lets make a deal” how professional is that?!! I get transferred to many depts all the time and never given any real assistance or answers. By the way the letters I have already sent they can not find them on file which is common with them. I also do believe many of the representatives are very uneducated and rude my 11 year old son could do better than most of them. I am figuring they are going to try and wait another year or so to help so my loan has more debt and interest to pay as well as a payment I can not afford people with half a million dollar homes have a cheaper payment than me. They need to be stopped! They were on the news in TX for all of what I am reading above and my situation as well as no longer a part of the BBB because of their actions. I also learned JP Morgan has part in their finances when I was battling the first time around their name was on all legal documents. I also agree with others they are very unjust and it needs to end!!
We have benn paying $1200.00 a month on a $108,000.00 house. Litton has placed us in foreclosure twice. Our original loan was through Chase, we feel behind 3 months and worked out a payment plan with Chase. We were one month from completion on that payment plan. When Chase sold our loan to Litton we in 2006. According to Littons worthless customer service department, Chase failed to send ALL the correct paper work. Even though I faxed Every scrap of paper we recieved from Chase to Litton. It was not good enough. After more then six weeks and two full payments being sent to Litton, We came home from work to find a foreclosure notice taped to our front door (It had a note on it from my neighbor, because to server had placed it on her house across the street) Not only was I embarrased I was really ticked. I called Liton the next day only to be told that after all this time Chase still had not sent them our paper work and that the two payments we had already sent were being returned and their lawyer would be sending us what our total cost would be to stay in our home. The lawyer sent the paper work about two weeks later. Litton claimed we owed a total of $15,000.00 in back payments, lawyer fees and all the other **** they could come up with. Needless to say we scrambled to borrow that kind of money from family. I know LITTON mortgage servicing is corrupt. They have horrible business practices. They are all about trying to see how many families they can put out in the streets. I have just one question. WHY IS THERE NOT A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM? There must be a law office out there full of lawyers just looking for a chance to sink their claws into something as corrupt as Litton. I would like the chance to screw them as much as they have screwed us.
If there is ANYONE on this website complimenting Litton, then they are absolutely PAID to write it. Why in the HELL would somebody go on a ‘complaint’ website to write positive thoughts on such a ridiculous company!
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that Litton pays them to write good things!
There’s nothing good about that company at all.
In July of 2007 I was admitted to the hospital after being diagnosed with AML (Acute Meyloid Leukemia), where I remained for five long months. During that time my husband took over the bills and contacted Litton to let them know tha situation.
As with many others, my loan was sold to Litton by Chase in 2006. I was never informed of this change until three months after when I received a letter from Litton informing me that I was three months behind on my payments, which had been going to Chase.
For the entire five months I was fighting for my life, my husband was fighting with Litton about the payments Chase had processed and never sent to them. Litton had also informed my husband that, due to the severity of my illness and possible length of recover, we were eligible for a loan modification, which my husband immediately jumped at. He filled out all the forms Litton sent him, and faxed them back the same day - and that was it.
In February 2008, due to astronomical medical bills, we were forced to file medical bankruptcy (never including the mortgage). At that time, my husband contact Litton to find out about the modification and they informed him that my credit was not good enough and I was no longer eligible.
Last week, I received a letter from Litton informing me that my interest rates had just gone up - I now pay $1500 per month on a $138,000 loan.
Okay, we are going to TRY for a Short Sale with Litton Loan. If I can at least share my experience, maybe it will help others. Right now, we are in our first month of NOT PAYING. Our Realtor let us know that banks will not accept offers until you are two months late. So, the house is for sale and we have offers all ready to submit in January. From all of the negative notes online about Litton Loan, I don’t anticipate them helping us. We needed to at least TRY this route and will keep everyone posted. Since they didn’t help to modify the loan, THEY JUST IGNORE US! We are trying this avenue. We are now almost 30 days late. TO BE CONTINUED.
Kelly,
Thanks for posting…either way, your experience will help others.

Good luck on the short sale… here’s today’s copy/paste from what I’m dealing with from Litton Loan:
“You may want to inform your buyer that this will not be a fast process- as lately it has been taking Litton 3-4 months to approve a SS if it is b/k- from the date we submit it to the b/k department at Litton. If the buyer is unwilling to wait then they may bid on the property at the pending F/C.”
This guy is in Loss Mitigation. Mind you, we filed a Chapter 13 when Litton started raising our payments. Litton entered into a fixed payment plan with us, then filed foreclosure. It’s crazy. And on top of that, the short sale apparently means nothing, LITTON WOULD RATHER FORECLOSE THAN ALLOW YOU TO MAKE PAYMENTS AGAINST THE YOUR PROPERTY! According to the statement above, this guy is telling us if Litton does not approve the short sale by the foreclosure auction date of 1/20, then we should have the buyer purchase the home at the auction!??!?! What can make these idiots understand that I am trying to salvage what little credit I have left. Who does that?
It’s incredible. Good luck to you. Prayer stopped working for me long ago.
Tonia
That’s just sad…
I have been working on a loan modification, internally, with Litton. They could not find my paperwork when I followed up 3-4 weeks later. Asked to speak with Manager, they mysteriously found that the proper paperwork was submitted. They simply stated it would take up to 90 days. 60 days later, no word, no action. You would think they would want to help customer w/ 800K mortgage. Not so much. Time to walk away. More to come shortly….
After reading all of these comments and being a customer of Litton Loan myself….I have come to the conclusion that eventually we will lose our home. The first time I spoke to Litton, I submitted everything they required, I recieved no answer for a month. I found out who was handling my modification, left messages every day. Still no contact. Finally I spoke to someone who told me that the person working on my case was no longer there. They promised to expedite my modification. Weeks went buy, they claimed they had nothing on file for me. I re submiited everything again. No answer. I called again, they just stated that we made too much money. How can someone who is on unemployment for a year and another making very little with three children make too much??? I don’t even think they looked it over!! I tried one more time, I called gave info, they put me on hold for a second and then said we do not qualify but wouldn’t tell me why. I honestly do not think they want to help anyone. Finally, we are trying a short sale with AHP, maybe we will have some luck….that is if Litton cooperates….makes me nervous. I will keep you updated.
trina,
Thanks for the updates…I’m sure everyone here appreciates even if they don’t have time to say so…
Thanks again..

Yeah, we have called several times to litton in houston, texas. Talked with country folk about our loan. We have an Arm like most. We orginally had Lime which sold to Litton. I called several times.. One question where do they get their rates…..Rates had fallen before or Arm kicked in but they still up the rate. I searched every where and could not find where these dumb ***’ get there rates………By Law mortage lenders need to show people where they get their rates.. On Litton website nothing…..I find rates in the Wall Street Journal……..Any info will help…..
Thanks
Chris
Chris G,
The rate used for adjustment is told you in the mortgage note you signed at closing. Dig out that all important document and read the Adjustable Rate Rider that goes with to see what margin and index is used to calculate your rate at adjustment.
They are required to send you a notice usually 60 before adjustment to inform you of the adjustment.
Most likely if it’s a subprime….sounds like it is(Lime or Dime) both old subprime retailers…it’s probably the 6 month LIBOR index…which is about 2.5% added to the margin of ??? gets you the new rate.
Good luck!
Litton Loan Servicing skillfully rips off customers. They do this by deliberately lying to their customers. They do this by deliberately making mistakes in their own favor. They do this by deliberately ignoring customers’ rightful protests of indignation. And finally they deliberately cause their customers to spend inordinate amounts of uncompensated time attempting to correct these costly mistakes.
Prior to 2008, I had never heard of them. Then in May of 2008 I received a letter from Fremont Savings and Loan stating that effective June 1, 2008, my loan would be serviced by Litton Loan Servicing.
No big deal I thought! The terms of my mortgage are all elaborated in my promissory note. I’ll just continue to make payments in a timely manner.
Then in August 2008 my ordeal with Litton Loan Servicing began in earnest. I received my first incorrect letter from them. My loan payment, they stated, would increase by more than $800.00 per month because as per the terms of my loan with Fremont, they are required to escrow my property insurance.
Immediately I faxed Litton Loan Servicing a letter explaining that I had never escrowed my property insurance with Fremont.
This explanation was not satisfactory to Litton. Their next letter stated that it would take up to 90 days to research this. In the meantime they stated I should “pay the additional $800.00 per month…”
Again, I called them. $800.00 per month was a lot of money for me to add on to my mortgage payment for their mistake. I refused to make the additional payment.
In August and September of 2008 Litton sent me statements showing the additional funds due. I ignored their statements; I paid only my normal monthly mortgage amount excluding the insurance.
Then began the incessant telephone calls from Litton… Every time they called, I patiently explained over and over again to them that this was their mistake.
In September 2008, Litton mailed me a letter making reference to my note which they stated was enclosed (no note was enclosed) and that in fact I did owe the additional insurance money. Again I wrote them a letter requesting a copy of the note that they stated was enclosed in my letter. Now comes October another letter requesting yet an additional 60 days to send me a copy of the note.
More telephone calls from Litton. More patient explanations.
I kept on thinking that my protests would merit the attention of some supervisor who would straighten everything out. But that did not happen. I kept calling them.
Finally On October 16, 2008 someone partially listened to me. I spoke with a woman who stated that she could straighten out this “entire mess.” In order to do this, I would have to fax her letter authorizing her to transfer escrow surplus funds to my mortgage payment and pay Litton an additional $60.00. I asked her why she was charging me $60.00 more and she stated that I needed this amount to have my account balanced properly. I paid this sum and then immediately requested an accounting of my mortgage payments.
What I shock when I received an accounting. Litton had the nerve to charge me a late penalty!
That was not the only repercussion from my involvement with Litton. My credit reporting agency has now advised me that Litton filed a derogatory report on me.
I have no ending to this story. Like a long running soap opera that never ends the issues go on and on.
Who owns Litton Loan Servicing? Who is responsible for setting policies? Does any governmental agency regulate them? If there are so many nightmarish stories reported on the internet about them, why can’t something be done?
Fremont Investment & Loan office offered me a mortgage loan modification on Jan. 15, 2008. When I finally got hold of someone again, they told me that office had closed that morning, laid everybody off, and gave me a California number to call-again no one answered. Their foreclosure attorney, in Cherry Hill, NJ, kept trying to pass my messages along-THAT ONE OF THEIR OFFICES HAD ALREADY OFFERED A MODIFICATION-they wouldn’t respond to him.
Fremont foreclosed in February ANYWAY, entered the house, and changed the locks (during the workday) ALL WITHOUT NOTICE. I came home from work, to a new, cheap door lock, open back gate, open basement door, and had to actually break in, even their attorney was shocked. I have three indoor cats (one is a kitten). I was frantic!!!
THE FEDERAL HOPE LINE WAS USELESS. THEY TOLD ME TO DECLARE BANKRUPTCY, BECAUSE THERE WAS NOTHINGTHEY COULD DO!
Fremont claimed they had to establish residency, BUT I WAS IN TOUCH WITH FREMONT’S ATTORNEY ALL OF THE TIME, AND ACCORDING TO HIS MESSAGES, HE LET THEM KNOW I WAS STILL LIVING HERE! Their broker is no longer in business.
I had to take a day off of work because there was no key left, no notice, no nothing, so I didn’t know who could come in here. I left a message for their attorney right after I broke in, left a message for him that morning (7:30am), and, finally reached him (live) about 9:00 am. I COULD NOT SECURE THE HOUSE.
When I finally got hold of a live person at Fremont (Mr. Alvarez), he said they would return the key. Would you want it? I have house pets and had financial papers on the kitchen table.
I finally got them to honor their modification, which is still high. The excuse for the break-in was that Fremont was trying to establish residency. However, I had been talking to their attorney on an almost daily basis and he was my “sending” messages. This attorney explained the foreclosure process to me, because he wasn’t getting any response from Fremont, regarding the Fremont proposed mortgage modification.
Fremont reimbursed me for the lock change and was very condescending (I have the letter) about reimbursing me for the damage I had to do to the back door, to break in.
I have still yet to receive the requested foreclosure agent and locksmith transcripts Fremont referenced. I requested these back in June 2008. I conducted all business by certified mail, so it can be tracked, and I have all receipts. I also “cc’d” my state AG, the TX AG, the CA AG, my federal gov’t reps/sens, state and locals reps. Well, after a while, the AGs got tired of receiving my letters, requesting help. I have those letters, too. Legal Aid is not an option, as they, like many, don’t even understand what I am talking about.
I have phone records from home and work to demonstrate just how long I would be on the phone, waiting for assistance.
My loan modification is still high, with Litton Loan Servicing.
My mortgage is owned by Litton Loan. My payments started at $1300 are are well over $2000. before escrow.
I have just created an email address for everyone to send specific information to.
LITTONCOMLAINTS@GMAIL.COM
I am going to take all the information I receive to every lawfirm in the state of Georgia until I find one that will represent us in a Class Action Lawsuit.
From my research I need the following information from you:
Name
City and State
Contact number
E-mail address
Letter with specific information regarding your claim
Together we may actually be able to save our homes. I am in the process of starting a blog. I will keep everyone posted on the blog address.
God Bless you all,
Rose-Anna
On June 21, 2008, our property was destroyed in a fire. Finally, the end of October, we received a check from our insurance to pay off the house. We decided to pay the house off instead of repair it due to the bad economy and also being the fact this is our rental property. On November 2, 2008, we sent the check from the insurnace company and a personal check from us to Litton Mortgage via overnight mail to pay the house off. We also had included in the overnight mailing a letter signed by both my husband and myself requesting the above mentioned loan be paid in full. Well, it is December 16, 2008 and the house has not been paid off yet. Not only has it not been paid off, but interest and late charges have accrued on top of it.
We have called Litton Mortage on numerous occasions and we were told they never had received a letter from us requesting the loan be paid off. They said they did not have the letter (we have signed documentation they rec’d it). Also, they said they never received a personal check from us to pay off the loan (the differential from the payoff amount). Well, they cashed the check and I had proof that the check cleared with my bank! So, we faxed everything over to them and followed up a week later to see if they received the fax, and they said “no”. I had proof they received the faxes too!
Another problem is: Litton Mortgage put the insurance check into our escrow account for repairs on the house back on November 2, 2008! This money was not for repairs as we had sent the letter requesting the payoff. I have a signed receipt to this fact that they did receive the monies! We told them to take the money out of escrow (this was their mistake) and pay the loan off!
Today, December 16, 2008, Litton Mortgage phoned us and told us there wasn’t enough funds to pay off the house. They told us being the money to pay off the loan wasn’t received in their payoff department until TODAY, THAT INTEREST AND LATE CHARGES have accrued. Two weeks ago when we spoke to them, they had told us that we had overpayed and that we would be getting money back! Also, they took the personal check we had sent and applied to this money to a payment for the loan instead of putting it with the insurance check check to payoff the loan.
This company does not know what they are doing. We were on the phone with them for over 2 hours one day trying to get this straightened out and it was always the excuse they did not receive the letter requesting payoff! Lies, more lies..and more!
Our mortgage was sold to this company after the fire. Too bad we can’t have a say as to what companies our mortgages are sold to. Doesn’t seem right!
Merry Christmas!
Vicki
Vicki, Advise your State Reps, Governor, News Channels, Better Business Bureau, etc. We all have to band together to let the higher ups know what, we, the people, are fighting……Litton Loan - Crooks!! Is the Govt bailing out criminals like these while us hard working, bill paying people lose our homes?????

My situation was quite different as it was difficult at first as well. I called Litton back in April 2008 because I had a 2 year arm loan with them; and my mortgage payment was going to adjust in October of this year by about $700/month extra initially, so I was getting nervous b/c of the economic situation as well as my own financial situation. I live in my house with my family - parents and younger siblings. I am not married & no kids. However, I, my sister and father pay for all the household expenses together otherwise I could not be able to afford it on my salary alone. My father lost his job and this caused so much financial stress on the family as a result. We were struggling but we were never late on our mtg payments. When I called Litton they said they could not help us as I would have to qualify for a loan modification by completing a verbal mod application over the phone but the earliest I could do it is about 2 months before my loan adjusted. This process was kind of like refinancing as it dealt with verifying incomes and all assets! Otherwise I would have to refinance / and they do no stated income loans, which is how I qualified for the loan in the first place OR sell my house. To make a long story short I felt hopeless after speaking with the customer service rep. They also seemed uninformed about their products and they can do to help. You also could not reach them directly as you would have to call the main number and then get transferred to them. And the luckiest and weirdest thing happened, I just received randomly in the mail some loan modification papers in May 2008 to freeze my payments for an additional 5 years as it was going to adjust in Oct of this year!!! Everything stayed the same (interest rate, ect) and all I had to do was sign the papers and get it notarized and returned to them. That was it and my loan modified. They also told me to wait one year and I could go back to them to re-modify my loan again to a fixed loan, so overall I am happy with the results as it could have been worse. Now I can’t wait till May to finally re-modify my first mortgage into a fixed loan! Hopefully they will extend my term from a 30 year to a 40+ years, so we can get a lower payment overall. The key is to show you can still make a decent amount on your mtg payment but then again in my case I was never late.
Ana,
I feel your pain. I have been trying to “modify” my loan since Dec. 2007!! One year later Litton still has not modified my loan.
I finally exhausted all my savings to keep “current”. I had NEVER been late with any payment. Finally, in Oct. 2008, I advised them I could not make any more payments. Well, low and behold, Litton contacted me the very same week. They have NEVER responded to me BEFORE!!! Now they seem to “care” about my loan modification……we’ll see??!! Did it really need to get to this point??
As I mentioned to another Litton Loan person, Vicki, we all have to band together and let our State Reps, Governor, News Channels, Better Business Bureau know what horrendous experiences we all have encountered with this corrupt lender.
They are not deserving of ANY bailout.

I first off want to say to everyone that has posted on here–Thank you- in ways you may never know. We (my husband and I) thought we were alone with LLS. In some strange way it’s comforting to know there are others out there in the same exact boat as us. I’m sick to my stomach with this company—they need to be SHUT DOWN and our government needs to help us do this. I’m not going to write to you what has happend to our family because it’s repeated over and over again on this site. It’s SICK that they are allowed to operate—sick! We will be going into pre-forclosure in the next several weeks—I do not plan to give up but it’s not looking hopeful at this point. We have two small daughters and the thought of having to relocate them makes me sick! We’ve been turned down for a loan modification—-they waited almost 3 1/2 months to call my husbands employer and by that time he had been let go—-they lied and said they spoke with us about this—–I asked to speak to this person that denied our mod. and they told me “he does not have an extentions”!!!!!! The frusteration goes on and on and on. We’ve even tried to speak with Hope for Homeowners—-we shall try? The door keeps getting slammed on our face. The bottom line here is……..Litton Loan Service must disolve or more responsible homeowners like us will lose what we have worked so hard for—-the dream of owning your home.
Good Luck to all—and please do not give up.
