Ocwen is THE WORST company I have ever dealt with. These guys lie through their teeth. You can not trust a word any of their agents say. They all just ramble on and on, when asked to give the result of their conversation in writing, they say they can not. Then the next agent you talk to they will tell you that it was not so. My interest rate was changed on me, all of a sudden going from 7.99 to 11.99! Without any notification to me. When I called them, they told me that I was advised of this! I told them that they have recording of all of our conversations, and let’s listen to them, they gave me the run around. Hold times of over 1 hour! We had sent in our payment, we have proof of the check going out, money being transferred and being available in the account, we had even called them meanwhile to ask them questions, and no mention of our payments being late, and then getting a letter that our payments are late for 2 months, when we had sent the payment in! These guys need to be sent to jail! How could this be legal! These guys have been playing with people’s lives, our homes, and they can get away with this kind of a practice!
Yes, agree Ocwen is the worst. We were within hours of lossing our home because of the same type of problems. We would send in 1/2 mo payment every other week. Ocwen then would hold the money in a different account until the whole month was paid then credit us with a payment. Because of these actions we were then told we were late> then then found other ways to add late payments ect on top to the current payments driving us farther in debt. We did seek help of the FHA. With there intervention we are still in the house making payments. Sending payments via wire service, Simply because the gard cannot be let down. YES, OCWEN does not let you know that you are late.
Ocwen started a bogus escrow, suspense account and have been applying part of my monthly mortgage payment to these bogus accounts and I can not get ocwen to give me any balance information on where this money is going to, Im talking about serveral thousand dollars
They suck suck suck. I was informed i didn’t qualify for a loan modification. why i didn’t i still have no clue. So I informed them I wouldn’t be able to pay when i was met with “well do you just want to turn the property over to us now”. I kindly told them that I am not giving them anything.
I was also told I did not qualify for loan modification but what I did was hang up and tried someone else and asked to speak to a supervisor or someone in charge. They were able to help me, they modified my loan.
Lisa,
I really wish it was that easy!
I bet everyone reading this would love to know EXACTLY how you did what they couldn’t…
Care to share a little bit more…like the name and direct number of the supervisor you worked with???
Thanks in Advance,
RKB
I kept on searching on the web since my last post for something to help me. I found some email addresses and said what the heck and sent them an email. I sent the email at 945am and got a call at noon. The person asked some questions and said they would have a deal for me by the end of the day. The next call i got was at 430pm with my modification. so in short i have listed the email address below in hopes it can help. I don’t know if it will help or I was just able to argue my point to them. I forget what site i got these names from or their titles but they are up high enough.

john,
Thanks for sharing that amazing success story. If you don’t mind could you elaborate a little.
Is you mod signed, sealed and delivered? How much per month did you save? Was you home “underwater? What documentation was required?
Thanks in advance,
RKB
I have been through a nightmare with Ocwen. I have been trying to open an escrow account with a loan modification. The same story about being transferred, cut off after holding for an hour, calling back to be transferred to many departments and each department referring to one I already spoke with. Sending in the same document several times. Ocwen stating they didn’t receive document. Sent certified document with no response. I can’s get anywhere I have no homeowners insurance now, no loan modification. I do have an escrow account that Ocwen opened when Ocwen purchased a homeowners insurance policy and put it in an escrow account for me. Of course it only covers the house. It is also more expensive than any quote I have. The have raised my house payment $600. I am writing letters to Federal Trade Commission and other govt agencies. Ocwen has been sued many times over these same complaints and lost. I need a lawyer. Any Suggestions?

This is the address to one of the law firms that they deal with.
Very difficult company to deal with, i’m not a customer of theres but i happen to be working with an agency that is investigating some of their holdings. Some of the consumer reps are helpful and others will give you the run around, i spoke with one such gentleman who gave me his name as “Jeffrey John”, not sure if this is fake or not but when i called back to speak with “jeffrey john” i was told that nobody by that name worked for Ocwen. There appears to be much more to this company then meets the eye. I suggest to those of you who are feeling cheated/swindled to contact your local FEDERAL prosecutors office and inquire about who handles criminal/civil complaints of this nature.
