The 30 year fixed rate for today is 5.375% with .250% in yield spread premium which is worse than yesterday and the FHA 30 year fixed rate is 5.375% at par.
Don’t ever verbally lock your loan. Everything in real estate and mortgage is about paperwork not verbal commitments so read the post in the Mortgage Rates category titled “Rate Lock…Get It In Writing”.
