Since Central Loan Administration & Reporting (CENLAR) deals primarily with sub-servicing loans, you may find them unable to modify your loan since they are not the actual lender. You can get the name of the lender from CENLAR and contact them directly for loan modification questions.

Cenlar in my experience is very minimally responsive to its customers. Their website is a joke. There is very little information on your account and every time I access the site I have 5 seconds before it times me out and I must log in again.
Their only job is managing mortgages for other lenders and they make this profitable by cutting back on customer service. Unfortunately as a borrower we have no say in who we do business with. This is by far the worst loan servicer I have been stuck with.
Hi all, so happy to hear that many of you are getting help with the e-mail list I dug up. Might want to write those contacts down as it’s only a matter of time before they yank it off the internet.
Now my problems continue. I am still trying to refinance to get away from this mess but even though my home is only 2 yrs old (and permanently deeded to my 3 acres) it is a “manufactured” home and at this point in time almost impossible to refinance because of loan vs. value which is currently 95%. The newest saga is that because our TB&W reserves are still being held hostage by TB&W’s filing bankruptcy, Cenlar now wants to raise my mortgage $50 a month to make up for that! Anybody know if that is legal? I have found some interesting TB&W contacts and will share those with all if they work out. I also have a customer liason e-mail for Cenlar but she is cranky, the other e-mails work just as good.
good luck to all,
Jeff “the diesel mechanic”
I had my mortgage through Taylor Bean and Whitaker for 2 years and I was enrolled in the equity accelerator program. They would automatically take money out of my checking when I would get paid every 2 weeks. It was nice because then I wouldn’t have to worry about it. I got the letter Sept 30, 2009 stating TB&W sold my mortgage to Cenlar but not to worry the payments were still being made. I then got 3 other letters saying that I didn’t need to worry that payments were still being made. On October 21, 2009 I got a letter saying TB&W had filed bankruptcy and any payments from Aug to Sept were being held in the courts. I called just to see if October was already paid for. They said no that there has been no payment since AUGUST. So I now owe them 3 MONTHS worth of payments which they want all of the money buy Nov 12 or they say they are going to assess late charges and the one lady on the phone said “we will come after you”. I called and spoke to a supervisor there who didn’t care about anything I had to say she just said they wanted their money. They are not willing to take partial payments and they cannot work out a payment plan. I never received late notices or even a bill. I did get a bill for November and that was it, just one month’s worth. The supervisor told me “Oh that is just becasue we are so behind” and that is my fault how???? So because you guys are too d@#$ slow to send out bills I get late charges and threatened to have my house taken away!!! I can tell Cenlar where to shove it!!!!!!!!!
I contacted the FHA and was given a procedure to file a complaint. According to FHA, non-payment of escrow held fees is a violation of the Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act (RESPA). Here is the link to write up and send an official letter: http://www.hud.gov/offices/hsg/ramh/res/reslettr.cfm
According to the FHA the company must acknowledge the receipt of your letter in 20 days and fix the problem in 60. If not, you can send a letter to: Director, Office of RESPA and Interstate Land Sales US Department of Housing and Urban Development Room 9154 451 7th Street, SW Washington, DC 20410
Honestly I don’t know what this will do, but I’ve complained to everyone and anyone else so far with no result.
Thank you to the diesel mechanic with the email list. I’m going to get to that right now!!!!
If anyone has contacts out there to get this on a local TV news broadcast, this seems to work well for other situations. It might work in this case, especially if the big news outlets pick it up.
Lynne,
I was in the same situation as you. I emailed the following people on Monday, 10/19 (thanks to those who suggested doing this):
sgozdan@cenlar.com; bweis@cenlar.com; blight@cenlar.com; pday@cenlar.com; myoung@cenlar.com; mlybeck@cenlar.com; jbader@cenlar.com; jplasket@cenlar.com; gtornquist@cenlar.com; dvaccaro@cenlar.com; dlowe@cenlar.com; dmiller@cenlar.com
On 10/20, I got a call back and was told a check would be cut in 5 business days and fedex’ed to me. On Friday moring, the 23rd I had the check in my hands.
Prior to emailing this group, I had been trying (unsuccessfully) since August 13th to resolve this issue.
I too was with Taylor, Bean for two years since I bought my house. My August 1st mortgage payment to TBW just cleared my bank this week. CENLAR’s site shows receipt of two monthly mortgage payments and three smaller mid-month extra payments-to-principal- but yesterday CENLAR sent me the latest mid-month payment-to-princiopal check back with a notice stating it was being returned because it does not match the amount of my mortgage payment! So evidently they aren’t set up for processing extra payments- are too stupid to know what they are- or don’t want to accept them because they want you on the hook for the whole mortgage and maximum interest. Has anyone else had any trouble with trying to make extra payments to principal? I was going to pay my 30-year mortgage off in seven years before I retire but if they won’t let me I need to get out of their clutches. I can’t pay my house off right now because I have a CD that’s not due for a year but I’m seriously thinking of paying the house off then even if I have to use an attorney to expedite things, so I have some peace of mind.
Bill,
Have you considered refinancing to get away from CENLAR servicing? It sounds like you have a large equity position so your LTV would not stand in the way. Of course, there are costs to get away, but there are also “costs” in staying as well.
Just a thought…
I was with Taylor Beane and got a notice from Cenlar to pay them instead. With all the scams, how do I know for sure that I am paying the right company. How can one verify this information?
These folks are a joke and seem only to know how to lie. I have been told on two occasions that the insurance had been overnighted and the insurance company has yet to receive it. Just last week after I had emailed Gregory Tornquist (CEO) about the problem I received a call on 10/15 and was assured it would be overnighted that day. As of today the insurance company has not received. I’m at my wit’s end on trying to get something paid with my money that they have.
Send your email to everyone on the list not just one. I’m looking at the date of the letter my lawyer sent them and it’s a couple days before I sent the emails. So maybe it wasn’t my very mean discriptive email that prompted them to pay my taxes and insurance so quickly…hmmmm

Try emailing all and calling too until you get them paid. Is it worth a hundred bucks to have a lawyer write something? It was to me, dunno if it is to you. Maybe that’s what it takes
This company has a satisfactory rate with the BBB??? Time to update your website, bud… its an F and for good reason… I have never dealt with such an incompentent bunch of people…
The BBB is slanated toward members. They cover their backs. I once read about a reporter who made a complaint about a company to the BBB and when he checked later there were no complaints listed against it. A better bet is your state attorney general’s or consumer protection deprtment’s complaint list.
Bill,
I agree with you on the BBB favoring paying members…but alot of BBB data listed is not on paying members. And regardless of pay status, if you see a bad rating, you can probably trust that, eh?
On the state consumer protection lists…I did a quick search and couldn’t find one list online. Do you have any examples of where I could find one of these lists online?
Thanks…
Ok you guys and gals,
I got my refund check for my taxes that I had to pay and the interest and penalities from escrow. My insurance company received the check for homeowners insurance today. Those email addresses and phone numbers Jeff originally posted are the way to go.
So relieved…..Thank you MR Jeff Diesel Mechanic!
daisy,
The email address to CENLAR executives…WORKED AGAIN?
Yes! Deposited this morning.
Congrats!
I hope everyone with CENLAR servicing is getting this!!
I hope so too, but I doubt it.
Oh, they have a long way to go before I am comfortable with this company. We’ll see what happens in June when they’re due again…if I’m still using them.
I would like those email addresses becaus I am having no luck getting my insurance paid. I have been told on three separate occassions it will be done and it has been since Septmeber 1 that I started asking them to do this. My insurance will be cancelled on Oct 30.
What do i do? they keep saying it will be done BUT so far nothing has happened. The sad thing is that it will cost me a bundle to change mortgage companies and I really can’t affored to do that.
But if they keep ******** around and my insurance is cancelled I have a serious problem. This is not right.
Any suggestions from anyone will be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem with my Homeowners Insurance and Property tax. After calling everyday for two months and not getting results I filed a complaint with the BBB. About a week and a half later every issue I had was taken care of. I don’t think my escrow would be fixed without filing the complaint.
Paige,
I’m in the same situation – insurance will be cancelled on 11/2 – I’ve been attempting to contact Cenlar for over a month now with no replies to my emails and faxes, and when I call I only listen to music for what seems like forever…
Fortunately, Cenlar paid my taxes on 10/21, which aren’t due until 11/15, however, my primary concern is the HO insurance. Yesterday, I emailed every contact in the list that Jeff had posted (see prior posts from the diesel mechanic with computer access – smart guy) I’ll post again if and when I hear back from any of the bigwigs.
Additionally, I emailed my State Bureau of Insurance to seek help, as I didn’t know what else to do. They suggested that I request a hearing regarding the cancellation notice, which I’ve done, as the insurance company will not be able to cancel my policy, at least until the hearing and a judgment is made, and this will buy me some more time to deal with Cenlar. The rep from the Bureau is also forwarding copies of all my emails to the state’s Consumer Credit Department who is investigating the situation.
I’ll post again to keep everyone updated.
Actually, I think it was Mike who first posted the pdf link – thank you all for the additional contact information!
